Hi, In order to use the file sync service, you'll need the ~/Ubuntu One
folder currently. We have plans to remove this requirement but in Karmic
you need to have the ~/Ubuntu One folder in order to sync files with
Ubuntu One. Tomboy notes sync should work fine without using the file
