Sure, and we give you the ability to configure your initramfs generation
such that you can add the additional modules you need (as you have
done). This configuration will last as long as your system is
installed, and will never be overwritten by us.
Your case is pretty unique, I don't think we need an out-of-the-box
option for it - it's fine to add the modules to /etc/initramfs-
tools/modules as you've done.
