Solved for me, Finally! I upgraded my TV to an LCD which required a higher resolution. This made my remote virtually unusable, 1 or 2 key presses and it was done. I figured it must be a problem with my myth frontend just not having enough muscle. Fortunately I had an extra computer I could grab parts from, I swapped out the mainboard, CPU and RAM. (went from an AMD 2.1ghz with 512mb SDRAM to a P4 2.8ghz with 1gb DRAM) I didn't reformat or make any software changes, just a straight swap of hardware. The problem disappeared. This was tricky to diagnose since video playback and menu navigation has always been smooth, no issues whatsoever so I alway suspected it was a software issue. I'm not sure if a memory upgrade alone would have done the trick, it would be worth a shot.
