Here is the debug trace attached as requested.  Thanks a lot for looking
at this!

I started rhythmbox, inserted a CD and it did start to copy to my library ok.  
Then I pressed the eject button and it is understandable that the error "Error 
transferring track" occurs for the remaining tracks (although not clean) since 
the CD is no longer in the drive.  That is not the real problem problem.   I 
then continued to insert the CD and try again.  This time rhythmbox always 
gives the "error transferring track" error even though the CD is in the drive 
and it had displayed the track information ok.  I repeated this again to show 
the app is now in a state where it always gives this error.
When I was transferring quite a few CDs I noticed that rythmbox worked for 1 or 
2 CDs but then started to give this error for all CDs after that.
