I've got to agree with #77 - It isn't an ext4 issue. I installed Karmic on my Eee with ext4 and again with ext2 and got similar errors both times.
I can also confirm that even using kernels that cause no problems under Jaunty cause problems under Karmic. So what's different about the boot process of karmic that's trashing our SSDs?
