Gabe, Excuse my delay in getting back to you. I may indeed have previously tried to eject the CD while ubuntu was running. However I don't recall such a lockup of a CD drive with other systems. I put the ubuntu 9.04 CD in my computer this AM. Used the DEMO mode; did not INSTALL ubuntu. Used Firefox and Google. Worked fine. However, I couldn't find a way to get out of ubuntu, and return to Windows Vista and Internet Exployer. How do I do that? So I cIicked "Shutdown computer". The ubuntu CD automatically ejected and the computer shutdown. Computer is now (obviously) on and working normally.
I like the ubuntu unclutterd look and fast response.
