I wrote a PHP script that creates a webpage with an adjustable output size: <? for ($a=0;$a<$size;$a++) echo "X"; ?>
When I put it on a server in the lan, everything works fine with every size of page. But when I put it on my webspace far away in the internet, the connection crashes with pages bigger than 950 bytes plus http header. The reason is simple: my cheap router can not split lage packages. All my computers have a MTU size of 1500 bytes without any adjustment, but only this one has 1320 after startup. I changed it. sudo ifconfig eth0 mtu 1500. And now everything works fine, I can browse the internet and do everything else I want to. Please, fix it. I needed hours to find this out. -- strange Marvell 88E8053 Gigabit Ethernet https://launchpad.net/bugs/87884 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
