1 - launch the Ubuntu Software Center 2 - Click EDIT from the pulldown 3 - Select Software Sources from the list 4 - Uncheck everything under "Installable from CD-ROM/DVD". 5 - Click on the OTHER SOFTWARE tab 6 - Uncheck all items in the list. 7 - Click CLOSE from the bottom right hand corner of the window 8 - Enter your password and click AUTHENTICATE The Ubuntu Software Center should update its cache. See if you can still recreate the problem. If you can recreate the problem then please enter this from the command line: software-center --debug 2>software-center-debug.txt Software Center should load and create a debug log. Please attempt to recreate the problem, exit from Software Center then attach the file software-center-debug.txt to this bug report.
