In alsamixer I went over to where it said "mic" and hit "m" to make the
square turn green making the inside lettering go white.  This apparently
unmuted my microphone.

There-after odd thing is if I use "Sound Recorder" or even Mangler from
http://www.mangler.org/

I can hear myself through my speakers, but the sound never travels to my
applications that need it.


I upgrade myself to the lastest version of Pulseaudio still with no fix.

The microphone still only works when using the LiveCD.

The logs I've attached to this comment pertain to my computer when
booted from the LiveCD
