Well I'm really not that familiar with linux and such, but I did spend some 
time reading through the forums.
I did read something about the different formats as you mentioned so I tried to 
play around by changing those settings (using OSS instead of ALSA sort of 
thing). However, since, as I said, I'm not all that familiar with it I wasn't 
very scientific about it. (Mostly just changed the settings on the while 
playing a test tone or an MP3 on VLC player).
 
Can you suggest some way of running through it? A more precise way? Since I 
don't know how it's supposed to work to begin with its tough to know what to do 
to test.
