the results are identical, except for the PID numbers in the log. I understand there's no obvious error there, but there's not a lot I can do. I start brasero, hit the 'Disc copy' button, and get a dialog that tells me 'Select disc to copy' with a grayed out dropdown that says 'No available disc'. there's a CD in the (virtual) drive. it appears in the places menu, and gnomebaker is quite happy to copy it.
there are these lines in the log: (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-sg.c:196: Handle ready (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-drive.c:1010: Medium inserted (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-drive.c:902: Probing new medium (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:2971: Trying to open device /dev/sr0 (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-sg.c:177: Getting handle (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-sg.c:196: Handle ready (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:2994: Open () succeeded (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:3030: Device ready (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:2860: Initializing information for medium in CD Drive (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:2307: Retrieving media profile (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:1502: Retrieving media available speeds (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:1330: Retrieving speed (Get Performance) (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-sense-data.c:139: SCSI command error: Invalid command (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:1341: GET PERFORMANCE failed (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:1422: Retrieving speed (2A speeds) (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-mode-sense.c:125: Getting page size (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At scsi-mode-sense.c:165: Getting page (size = 28) (brasero:17322): BraseroMedia-DEBUG: At brasero-medium.c:1442: wrong page size (brasero:17322): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At brasero-session-cfg.c:809: Restoring session properties (brasero:17322): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At brasero-session-cfg.c:815: No media (brasero:17322): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At brasero-session-cfg.c:809: Restoring session properties (brasero:17322): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At brasero-session-cfg.c:815: No media which look to contain errors: "SCSI command error: Invalid command", "GET PERFORMANCE failed", "wrong page size". this should be easy to replicate - just create a VMWare VM, boot a karmic live CD in it, then run brasero... PS. I've seen identical behavior on a 'real' PC too, but I don't have immediate access to that PC. ** Attachment added: "brasero.log.2" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/36952293/brasero.log.2 -- brasero can't find CD drive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/497568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
