I just enabled Desktop Effects on my Feisty system to try it out, since
I am something of a fan of this type of thing. (After all, eye candy
like this is great to show Microsoft users… ;-))

Anyway, I am having a whole host of problems, and most of them seem to
be related to this very bug report. I am not sure if I should create a
new bug report, or just comment here, so I will just comment here first
and if necessary create a new bug later.

Essentially, under certain circumstances (sometimes seemingly random)
the body of a window refuses to show up. I am unable to run GNOME
Terminal, xterm, or uxterm, for example, because the contents of the
windows do not show up when they're run with Desktop Effects enabled.
Some pop-up windows (like when attempting to file a bug in Launchpad and
you choose "Search" for the package) in Epiphany have the same problem.
I have been able to replicate this behavior across reboots, and it was
only after I updated today and enabled Desktop Effects.

This is the only problem I have found so far. It does not seem to be an
application-specific thing, either. So far, as I mentioned, it affects:

* GNOME-Terminal
* xterm
* uxterm
* Some pop-ups in Epiphany

I am sorry that I do not have more information to provide at this time.
I am working on it.
