Hi, I was experiencing the same problem with 9.10 on my Thinkpad T30. I did the following (propably what Daniel T Chen also suggested):
- ran alsamixer - scrolled right to "external" - deactivated it (pressing the "m") key Now sound output works just fine! Also, the volume up/down buttons started to work. Works both for "Pulse Audio" and the "Intel ICH3" stuff here. Looks like we have the same Audio cards in our T30: 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.6 Modem: Intel Corporation 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 02) Please let me know if this solved the problem for you. -- No Sound on a IBM Thinkpad T30 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/499259 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
