Using Audacity to transcribe from audio tape to disc, the created files show short skips/dropouts. I can get a run of two or three in 30 seconds followed by several minutes without any. I'm running Intrepid (8.10) kernel 2.6.27-16-generic, 3.2 Gib ram, dual core intel E7400 @ 2.8 Ghz, about 300 GiB HD available.The input and output devices for Audacity are ALSA: HDA Intel: ALC888 Analog(hw:0.0) . The above posts convince me the problem is likely not with Audacity, so I report it here in hopes that it will get checked and resolved.
