I run a number of machines. This bug only seems to affect my AMD64 athlon dual core machine.
I had a lot of trouble installing ubuntu 9.10. It crashed on me several times and I had to do a restart - even got a blue screen from windows xp. Let me explain. I like to play. I dual boot windows xp and ubuntu 9.10. windows xp is always underneath. I run sun virtual box on windows xp and Ubustu 9.10 so that I can run the other on the one at the same time. The problem seems to be related to mixing 32 bit windows xp with 64 bit ubuntu 9.10. You can run 32 bit windows xp in sun virtual box on 64 bit ubuntu 9.10 - no problem - runs really fast and well. You cannot run 64 bit ubuntu 9.10 in sun virtual box under 32 bit windows xp - you must use 32 bit ubuntu 9.10 and expect problems when installing it but it does work eventually. ..and always there is a problem installing ttf-mscorefonts-installer.
