Hi I was going to file a separate bug but this report seems to capture
my problem as well. However I am using 9.10 so I guess it is has been
around for a while. It seems to be presistent as I remeber having
similiar problems on my Mom's machine running Ubuntu 8.10.

I also use two keyboard layouts UK standard as default and Bulgarian
Phonetic. Keyboard shortcut for changing layouts is Left_Ctrl+Left-
Shift. Upon restart I get 2 extra layouts - number 3 displays as UK2 and
in opnening the layout preferences window it is described somewhat wierd
as "uk, bg phonetic" while number 4 is simply Standard American (US
Standard). Shortcuts also seem to be disabled after every start of the
system. And when using them I do have similiar porblems - layout
indicator showing one layout while actually typing another.
