yes thankyou very much Brian Since i sent this i have read the online user manual and i know that it will not work "within windows" without AC power. My mistake. but i did also mention the screen resolution. it only goes upto 800x600 in the display preferences. my monitor is 1024x768. since my last message i have downloaded "resolution switcher" from the repository. nothing has happened and i dont know how to make it "run" i dont have any other problems apart from this. but im looking forward to getting it sorted out.
