I had the same issue with HP Compaq 6720s notebook, Intel GM965/GL960 VGA card.
Disabling texture tiling with 'driconf' solved the problem. Method described

I think it is the same bug. The problem is inside the stellarium code,
not inside the driver (as I understand).
