Can you add more details including, 3g modem manufacturer and model number, steps to reproduce, etc... It sounds like what you've described is that you've created a new 3G connection that includes a PIN via NM's UI, but that the PIN is not being sent to the provider, so...you need to manually set the PIN using cutecom. Can you try the newest versions of NM, -applet, and MM from the NM daily trunk PPA? These versions were all uploaded to Lucid yesterday.
