@Torsten One more question... I realize your normal use case is a static configuration file on disk, however can you please try to reproduce the issue with the NM GUI? The upgrade from NM 0.7 to NM 0.8 involved a couple of major changes including getting rid of HAL, and also moving to MM ( vs. NM 0.7 handling 3g directly ).
