Unfortunately, this is the way NM works. If it fails to make a
connection to a secure AP, it assumes that the key was bad, and forces
the user to re-enter the key. From your description, I'm not sure that
happened...
So a few questions:
1. Were you prompted for the key again after the connection failed?
2. Is your AP hidden? The fact that appears in the main menu ( you said
you double-clicked it ), makes me think not.
3. The issue you describe in (2), not being able to connect via "Connect
to Hidden..." is a known issue and has been fixed in Lucid.
3. Last of all... please note that you're using a proprietary driver for
your Broadcom Wi-Fi card, and it's know to have problems. Since it's
proprietary, these bugs can only be fixed by Broadcom...
