Chris - A little more background info Problem started by exhibiting (and is still currently exhibiting) the 'Places' menu on the panel appears briefly when clicked on then disappears. 'Applications' and 'System' work fine.
So far I've removed 'gnome-panel', re-installed it. I've performed a apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop. The latter screwed the nvidia drivers up and left me at a console. Re-installed NVIDIA, reconfigure X and finally got back into gnome - to be presented with the same 'disappearing' Places' menu. I'm at a loss now except for a full re-install. One of the few other apps installed is VirtualBox - dunno if this is interacting with gnome-panel. -- gnome-panel freeze/infinite loop/memory leak https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432794 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
