@jeet: I think you have a different bug. @Malte: I'm glad you found a workaround, if you want a better fix, I think Till might have been onto something in comment #3 when he mentioned bug #419143. You might like to try the fix discussed there, which has now been released (ie. it has moved from karmic-proposed to karmic-updates and in now available via Update Manager).
