Yes I did indeed read you description and was aware you was using 9.04 before you tried to boot the live cd as a result you will still have information about the failed boot on you system, this is what I was trying to get you to post.
I have to remind you that this is a bug tracker and the usual procedure is to gather all the necessary information needed in the form of logs for the developer to work on. I'm sure you can appreciate the difficulty of trying to solve a problem on a computer while having no access to it and very little information to go on. Anyway, I am glad you found a solution and can only offer my apologies that you didn't find using the bug tracker very helpful, I have to accept responsibility for that. I have made a note of your problem and solution and will be sure to be aware of it should I encounter it again. If you need an answer to a support type question then I will recommend the support tracker to you. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu It will give you quick answers without going through the bug process and indeed if you do have a bug then they will point you in this direction I'm sure. As you have indicated you have found a solution I am now going to mark this bug as invalid which is the usual procedure if the user has found a solution to the bug before the bug report is complete. Many thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- No screen display when trying to boot 9.10 LiveCD on Dell Inspiron 1545 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/506786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
