I had access to the machine again yesterday and found 11 perl-related crash files in /var/crash - you can find one of those attached to this comment. Just for curiosity I created a backtrace against the core in the crash (the trace was created on another machine though):
#0 0x08099105 in Perl_newLOOPOP () #1 0x0808c40b in Perl_yyparse () #2 0x080eff2d in ?? () #3 0x08152008 in ?? () #4 0x08152bf8 in ?? () #5 0x081364d5 in ?? () #6 0x00000000 in ?? () Note that I get: warning: core file may not match specified executable file. I will try to trace on the original machine when I can access it again. ** Attachment added: "One out of 11 perl crash files" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6674445/_usr_sbin_dpkg-preconfigure.0.crash -- 5.8.8-7build1 segfaults on x86 https://launchpad.net/bugs/90334 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
