Seems like my idea in the upstream tracker didn't gain much traction.
This bug with the lousy icon makes up for a really poor experience for
the first-time connection...

I am using SunStudio as a primary compiler. I would imaging that gcc
would also work, however compiler flags may need to be adjusted.
