As comparsion. a plain installed XP64 gives 50MB/s, while Win7 gives 100MB/s ! yes, it's 1Gbit network, and the numbers are actual calculated speed by copying 2GB while using stopwatch.
I assume the big difference is due to different driver, but the one in Linux is hard to excuse..
