"After a fresh reboot sometimes Pulseaudio Volume Meter recorder shows mic working briefly. But soon dies after a few minutes."
Looks like I found the right bug. I also have "00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)" with an ALC262 controller. The problem seems to be described here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1381013 and I filed a new bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /alsa-driver/+bug/523953 I understand that the Karmic alsa backports package is just that, a backport, but since Lucid will have Alsa 1.0.22.1 by default, I hope the devs fix this issue before then. Removing the alsa backports package and reverting to Alsa 1.0.20 solves the issue of the mic and line-in dying after awhile, on my system at least. -- No record-signal from internal mic (Notebook, Sigmatel, HDA Intel) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480815 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
