With gnumeric 1.9.15, the code inside gnumeric surrounding the solver has changed significantly. In fact most of the solver code has been removed from Gnumeric and we are now using the external (and separately maintained) lpsolve binary. Chances are that most existing solver related bugs have been replaced by a completely new set.
