I installed "build-essential", there was no more the error window, but the
screen blinked and only command line (no graphic mode) was available.
Then I re-installed the NVIDIA driver, using this command line:
    sudo sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.53-pkg2.run
and
    sudo kdm start
and then it was possible to enter into graphic mode.

Now I can start a graphic session with "Ubuntu, Linux
2.6.31-20-generic", but no more with "Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-19-generic":
the screen blinks and only command line (no graphic mode) is available.

The output of
     apt-cache policy linux-headers-2.6.31-19-generic
is:
     linux-headers-2.6.31-19-generic:

The output of
     apt-cache policy build-essential
is:
     build-essential:
       Installé : 11.4
       Candidat : 11.4

(/var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad.net_lcid-fire_areca_ubuntu_dists_karmic_main_binary-amd64_Packages)

However, since "Linux 2.6.31-20-generic" seems to run well, I do not
need anymore "Linux 2.6.31-19-generic".
