Unfortunately while it may be crashing inside the nvidia driver, there is no stacktrace for that portion of the crash. I'm thinking there is nothing we can do to resolve this bug at the distro level since the code is closed source.
I'll leave the nvidia task here, but I think if you feel this is an important issue, then probably it should be worked around in compiz. The only other thing I'd suggest is to try purging and reinstalling nvidia, just in case there were any GL bits from some other driver like -nouveau. ** Summary changed: - compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc_consolidate() + compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc_consolidate() from glXReleaseTexImageEXT() ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => High -- compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc_consolidate() from glXReleaseTexImageEXT() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433665 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
