The "suspend-test --full" test is unavailable to me because of the GDM restart issue: A terminal window within gnome disappears when GDM restarts, and as of now, for whatever reason, I can no longer get a console prompt. After rebooting the machine a few minutes ago, the first several times I tried getting to VT1, not only did I get a blank screen on the VT, but GDM restarted - I was back at gnome login.
After letting the gnome session "sit" for a while (long enough for the screensaver to come on, I can at least attempt to navigate away and back to VT7 and gnome without losing that session, but other VTs are still unavailable to me. FWIW, suspend-test results visible before losing my gnome session were: suspend for 20s via dbus while on AC: failed. suspend for 20s via dbus while off AC: succeeded, but resume got me back to a gnome login session. At this point, guidance is required. Not being able to get to a console is a serious handicap, and the problem may not be kernel resume but GDM or display related. Without the console, the standard debugging techniques seem out of reach. All suggestions for a way forward are welcome. -- [Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC] late resume failure [non-free: nvidia] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432230 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
