I have the same problem with a oem LG drive. It seems to be a bad firmware in some dvd-drives.
A workaround ist to buy a new drive for 20 Euro or Dollar or whatever and throw these buggy drives away. A another workaround could be to blacklist these bad drives. And finally the best would be to find out what is wrong.
