For all who cannot install from cd try to install from a usb-stick. It've done this with 9.04 and 9.10 and work perfect except the dvdrom. If i insert a cd or dvd the system locks up. If i do not use the drive at all the system works over days and weeks!
I do not know in which part of the kernel this bug is, but possibly it could happen if a harddrive fails!
