I tried your suggestion and edited the "Fusion.ini" file. Having first
copied the original Fusion.ini file to my desktop, I tried
ALSADeviceName=pulse and saved the file. Run Kega Fusion (with no other
programs), enabled the sound and it froze. Tried your other suggestion,
that is ALSADeviceName=default and again, Kega Fusion froze. Reverted
the original un-edited Fusion.ini file and Kega Fusion works fine with
its default Fusion.ini settings, provided no other programs are running.

To clear any confusion from my previous comment... if you try changing
"SoundDisabled=1" to "SoundDisabled=0", it reverts the edit back to
"SoundDisabled=1", that's all I tried at the time of writing my previous
comment - the Fusion.ini file with its default settings is fine. The
only thing you have to do with Kega Fusion is click the "Options" menu
and tick "Sleep While Waiting".

All these problems I've been describing have one thing in common: some
programs won't work with sound unless you close ALL other programs. I
don't think all these different programs have the same bug. I believe
there's a bug with running these affected programs with sound AT THE
SAME TIME AS OTHER PROGRAMS THAT USE SOUND - even with those programs
that work fine with sound.

I don't know "who" writes the Linux sound systems or if you could
contact them about this problem. It's a critical problem!
