This is still happening as of today. The screen is split, and wraps around, as described above, and switching to a text console results in a blank screen.
This does not happen under Karmic on this dual-boot system, so the kernel used is possibly an issue. To Georg Duffner - when you use the 2.6.31-20 kernel, how much of Lucid are you using - is that kernel still in the /boot directory along with later Lucid kernels? Also, today I installed Sun Virtualbox on this system, and was able to install Lucid beta-1 in a VM. The performance is extremely poor on this computer, as it only has 512 mb of RAM, which is split between the host (Karmic) and VM (Lucid under VirtualBox) systems - both systems are constantly thrashing - swapping a lot. Is there actually a fix in progress - I see that at the top of the page - it hasn't appeared yet. -- [K8M800] Screen origin shifted to center, screen wraps, ttyN screens don't work, on Averatec 3280 running Lucid with openchrome driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495553 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
