I know I am writing a lot. But I also realize the above comment doesn't make very much sense. The latest Maxima on Sourceforge is 5.11. I am interested in building Maxima on a long term basis using the most recent version for Ubuntu. I am very interested in CAS. I have almost completed a M.S. in using a CAS with nuclear Physics applications - nothing wonderful but I enjoy this type of thinking very much.
I am more than willing to work with the Debian maintainer who I have had a very scarce amount of contact with. I subscribe to the Maxima mailing list and know the latest problems, changes that are ocuring with the application. If your interest is to keep the Debian version this is also quite understandable. Debian on the whole has almost if not the latest science packages. I simply am interested in making sure that Ubuntu has the latest versions available in the official repositories if possible and as soon as possible. -- Why not use 5.11 https://launchpad.net/bugs/92715 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
