I'm experiencing these same issues on my new HP 5310m and using the above mentioned pci=use_crs has no impact.
I have no problems with wireless but have no ethernet unless it is plugged in on a cold boot (A restart still results in no ethernet). When plugged in there is no issues with connectivity. I have tried several releases i.e. Jaunty, Karmic and Lucid Beta 2. Currently running Lucid Beta2 and this problem still exists. The system will freeze if you disconnect and reconnect to a wired network unless as details above you join another network such as wireless. If I set acpi=off in grub everything seems fine (only had a quick test to see if network card is available and communications were ok) but I lose all the power management which for a laptop is a must. Please find attached some dumps from lspci and dmesg from when booting with and without the cable attached. Has anyone got any other possible solutions that I could try? I tried different kernels from karmic-proposed (When installed) but they had no effect. ** Attachment added: "hp5310m-networkissue.zip" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/43889564/hp5310m-networkissue.zip -- System crashes if cable hot unplugged; No interface but "lo" listed by ifconfig if cable isn't plugged when booting; wireless doesn't work at all. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
