ok, here you go, I have GREAT SOUND AGAIN !!! after following these commands you linked me to:
echo autospawn = no >> ~/.pulse/client.conf killall pulseaudio LANG=C pulseaudio -vvvv > ~/pulseverbose.log 2>&1 Great sound output now happens, so test after boot now instead of undoing the commands. I rebooted the computer to ensure boot survival of disabling PA, and just like that I have great sound restored ! Does that not just prove that the problem I am experiencing IS PulseAudio ? testing both before re-boot and after re-boot renders great audio output. I see only one way to add attachment, so the amixer output will attach in following post. ** Attachment added: "pulseverbose.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/45587191/pulseverbose.log -- extremely bad audio playback on ALL computers since making pulseaudio default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569814 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
