I too am affected by this bug, on my Dell Vostro 1510 laptop. I see the same error message during boot: "mmc0: Unknown controller version (2). You may experience problems." I can also confirm that the error message is in /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/dmesg. I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit to dual boot along with my preexisting 9.10 (also 64-bit) install.
What's strange is that I now see this error message when booting 9.10 as well, which was definitely never a problem before the 10.04 install. Also, I'm almost positive that the first time I booted 10.04 as a "Live USB," I did not see this error, but it did appear after I did a complete install. Prior to the 10.04 install, I used the Live USB boot to use gParted to delete an old partition, which had 8.04 on it. Then, during the 10.04 install, I manually created / and /home partitions. I haven't noticed any adverse affects yet, but it's only been 12 hours since this error message first appeared at boot for me. I'm happy to provide as many details as I can, if someone can let me know what will be most useful. Thanks! -- Booting Dell Vostro 1520 shows message "mmc0: unknown controller version(2).
