This bug affects me in Lucid. I think clasifying it of low importance is a serious mistake. When it happens to me, often the logout button often disappears. To a new user, they would then have no way of logging out or shutting down (since they are unlikely to know about sudo shutdown -hP or about adding the logout applet). Also, users coming from windows see this area as their task bar replacement - if this area has problems in Windows, it indicates a serious fault. Thus, people will assume these issues indicate a sever fault in Ubuntu....
