I have a Dell Latitude d510 and the same thing happen to me. I had the
same problem with my dell desktop at work using the live disk. I am
rather new to Linux and not very computer savvy so I am not sure what do
next. I really disappoints me that if this is a wide spread problem for
dell computers. If you heard good things about Ubuntu and you gave it
shot but it just would not load on you computer, why would you ever come
back. I hope this is a small problem and not one that effects one of
the biggest computer makers in the U.S. Maybe they should have longer
spans between new versions to make sure they all work before they roll
them out. Just a idea.
