** Description changed: My computer has an onboard Parallel printer port and an second printer port on a NETMOS pci card in Karmic (9.10) I cannot print on the printer connected to the PCI card, the printer works fine when connected to the other port. I've run the live cd of 7.04,7.10,8.04,8.10,9.04 , and i can install and print to the printer connected to the pci card on each . I've also tried printing to the pci port using a live cd session of 9.10 but it did not work either. using this post from ubuntufurom.org as a guide ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1304178&highlight=netmos+pci+card ), I collected some information in each live cd session and noticed that in karmic , two ioports are loaded for parport1 but only one in each of the others. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ in 7.10 cat /proc/ioports : 0378-037a : parport0 dfe0-dfe2 : parport1 lspci: 02:09.0 Communication controller: NetMos Technology PCI 1 port parallel adapter (rev 01) Subsystem: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic Unknown device 0010 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 21 I/O ports at dfe0 [size=8] I/O ports at dfa8 [size=8] I/O ports at dfa0 [size=8] I/O ports at df98 [size=8] I/O ports at df90 [size=8] I/O ports at df80 [size=16] _________________________________________________________________________________________________ In 9.10 cat /proc/ioports : 0378-037a : parport0 dfa8-dfaa : parport1 dfe0-dfe2 : parport1 lspci : 02:09.0 Communication controller: NetMos Technology PCI 1 port parallel adapter (rev 01) Subsystem: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic Device 0010 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 17 I/O ports at dfe0 [size=8] I/O ports at dfa8 [size=8] I/O ports at dfa0 [size=8] I/O ports at df98 [size=8] I/O ports at df90 [size=8] I/O ports at df80 [size=16] Kernel driver in use: parport_pc Kernel modules: parport_pc ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: jean 1612 F.... pulseaudio CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type Card0.Amixer.info: Card hw:0 'ICH5'/'Intel ICH5 with AD1980 at irq 17' Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1980' Components : 'AC97a:41445370' Controls : 46 Simple ctrls : 32 Date: Wed Dec 23 12:47:59 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=7290178a-7ce3-41bd-a106-416ab229de5d InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release Candidate i386 (20091020) IwConfig: lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions.
