I get the same bug with sansa clip+ on ubuntu 10.04 kernel 2.6.32-22-generic
This is what I get in syslog when I connect it: May 10 19:25:07 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1601.171236] hub 1-5:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3 May 10 19:25:09 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1603.280392] usb 1-5.3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:09 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1603.393141] usb 1-5.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice May 10 19:25:09 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1603.402028] scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices May 10 19:25:09 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1603.402300] usb-storage: device found at 8 May 10 19:25:09 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1603.402302] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning May 10 19:25:14 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1608.400577] usb-storage: device scan complete May 10 19:25:35 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1629.090381] usb 1-5.3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:36 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1629.900381] usb 1-5.3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:42 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1636.410391] usb 1-5.3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:43 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1636.920380] usb 1-5.3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:44 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1637.920389] usb 1-5.3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 May 10 19:25:44 lars-ubuntu kernel: [ 1638.384537] scsi 6:0:0:0: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery On karmic I could work around this bug by adding acpi=off to the bootline, but lucid won't boot for me with acpi=off. I've got an nvidia nForce3 usb 2.0 controller on my MOBO (MSI K8N- Neo2-FX). If I boot with the sansa clip+ attached I can make it show up in nautilus, but I can't mount it.
