Hmm.. This seemingly the same bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/531063 suggests adding the PPA ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa and installing linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-14-generic (or even 2.6.34-rc6 or the latest daily build of 2.6.34)
