Just installed 10.04 on my HP DV9000 (dv9817cl) and experienced the same
suspend problem. The only way to recover the system was to force
shutdown with the power button.
The system recovered normally, except that wireless had stopped working,
and Network Manager was not on the panel any more. I had to add a
notification area back to the panel to get Network Manager back so I
could re-enable the network and connect to the wireless router.
Am disabling suspend mode until I see an answer posted. Hopefully
hibernate will work instead.
