Can you please test 0.2.3ubuntu1 with the package? It fixed a bug that might be
releated to this one. If that does not help, please run:
$ dpkg -I /home/dad/Desktop/oracle-xe_10.2.0.1-1.0_i386.deb
and attach the output here (thats a capital "i").
