Hi I have the current release of 10.4. I am pretty sure I have had 1 updated kernal since this (possibly 2 - I downloaded and installed on the 29th Apr and have kept updated). I have not had any issues like this since I have installed so you can just close the bug, especially if no else reported similar problems.
Thanks Jason ________________________________ From: Jeremy Foshee <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, 26 May, 2010 12:48:44 AM Subject: [Bug 565169] Re: After installing updates with new kernals, get 'serious kernal error' bug notification Hi Jbun, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 565169 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. It seems to happen after an update that involves a new kernal....1 or 2 restarts after the initial install I get a 'Serious kernal error' message. I don't notice any performance issues with the PC and sometimes don't even bother resarting. If I do restart I don't see it again.
