1) Install "fromdos". E.g. in Ubuntu 10.04, sudo aptitude install tofrodos 2) Convert the files: fromdos file1.txt && fromdos file2.txt 3) Re-do the meld: meld file1.txt file2.txt > Step one would be discovering whether this is a Meld or Python difflib issue.
