Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve
Ubuntu.
Your log shows:
Setting up linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic (2.6.32-22.35) ...
Running depmod.
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-22-generic
Segmentation fault
Segmentation fault
Segmentation fault
Segmentation fault
Segmentation fault
This indicates a serious problem with your system. Is this reproducible
after a reboot of the system?
The error message from the grub script is:
/usr/sbin/update-grub: line 990: echo: write error: Broken pipe
User postinst hook script [/sbin/update-grub] exited with value 1
dpkg: error processing linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
... but I don't draw any conclusions about this given that it happens
right after update-initramfs has blown up with a segfault.
** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
